Using Moodle as a backbone for Teacher Learning at CDNIS

Key Information

Abstract

CDNIS provides a Master Level certificate course in educational technologies through State University of New York (SUNY) accreditation. Central to this is the use of Moodle to support teacher diversity and digital technology skills and understanding. Teachers are time poor but dedicated to self and student improvement.

Moodle provides the flexibility to enable teachers to come together and learn from each other and the world beyond. Forums, integration of Web2 tools, digital media and other learning is supported within the Moodle blended learning environment.

The SUNY course also provides the basis for the development of school-wide certification of teacher digital literacy, once again anchored by Moodle. As a teacher of teachers, using Moodle also assists personal learning applicable for the digital age and contemporary school responsibilities.
